Summer Festival - Wireless Fest
Wireless festival is a British music festival which takes place every year in London. It's owned by LiveNation and has been setup since 2005. It's one of Britain’s biggest music festivals and has been held at different locations in the UK each year. Two Years ago it was held at Hyde Park, London, last year they had the venue set up in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London and this year Wireless was held in Finsbury Park which had four big stages for the artists to perform on and the large venue held a huge amount of people. Wireless festival is one of the very few that last an entire weekend and has a strict rule that people cannot camp around the venue. Reviews on this music festival have all been very positive; feedback from people saying they enjoyed the atmosphere and had a great time listening to their favourite artists performs. Wireless Festival showcases artists of all types of genres which opens up a variety of different fans attending the festival, alternative groups, pop artists, rap/hip-hop, DJs and Dance acts, and a band stage which allows underground/ up and coming talent to also perform to be given the chance for future recognition. This Festival reflects what people enjoy listening to as it’s very current and crisp.
This year some of the world’s biggest hip-hop and urban chart topping stars appeared at Birmingham’s Perry Park and in London’s Finsbury Park. International Superstars such as Jay Z, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake caught a huge amount of attention and attracted a large amount of people as they were the main headlining acts to perform. Festivals and live music benefits these artists as they receive major income for the thousands of fans that flock to see their favourite artists and bands perform live. New comers also took to the stage like Iggy Azalea. She performed her latest single "Black Widow" alongside Rita Ora who features on the song. My favourite set ever at Wireless has got to be Nicki Minaj's set back in 2012. Her stage presence was impeccable and the crowd loved her and her energy.
Wireless' has audiences in London that tend to be teens and young adults who's ages range between the ages of 14/15 - 21 yrs of age but I suppose it truly depends on what artists are headlining the festival and whether they listen to particular genre of music. What also affects the the turn out of the event is if an artist'd music appeals to a younger audience and if their stage presence is good as it effects the audience age range you'd see attending this Festival and it's overall turn out.
